Bad ties with the PRC

Senator,

Our national relationship with the People’s Republic of China must be addressed.  China’s willful disregard for national sovereignty, zealous defense of communist authoritarianism, and their exploitation of their own citizenry are beyond the pale, and are not in line with our values as a Nation.

We are slowly watching the death knell of Hong Kong[1] [2].  China’s occupation of Tibet continues – an unprovoked occupation, with the state oppression of a free people’s religion[3].  They actively violate the national sovereignty of our allies by expansion efforts into the South China Sea[4].  They actively murder prisoners of conscience as part of the ‘bloody harvest’[5] in order to supply ‘transplant tourists’ and communist party members with healthy organs (named the world’s leader in executions by Amnesty international[6]).  Worst of all we stand by as they commit state sponsored genocide of the Uygher people – forcing their labor, just as the Nazis did, in re-education camps[7].

A new pacific partnership needs to be ratified with Taiwan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, Japan, New Zealand, and Australia.  Our Supply chains need to be moved out of China and established through this new pacific partnership with an emphasis on tax benefits and tariff reduction / free trade for countries that sanction and exclude Chinese manufacturing and assembly, as well as Chinese goods.

Taiwan must be recognized as the true China – we must encourage them to declare formal independence, and offer arms trade and the housing of a naval base home to a permanent U.S. Carrier group.  The Taiwan Relations Act passed by Congress in 1979 must be reevaluated and a new defense relationship must be established and fostered. The World Bank must stop issuing loans to the People’s Republic of China.  International investment for projects in China must be discouraged.  New taxes need to be introduced to motivate American businesses to operate elsewhere.  Tariffs on rare earth metals, finalized electronic goods, plastics, and all other major exports must be maximized.  Plagiarism, espionage, and intellectual property theft need to be put to a stop – especially in our colleges; Chinese students studying abroad must have their visas canceled and be sent home.

Please, take action to defend our values, and to encourage our international allies to defend their own.  I appreciate your service to this great nation.
